Morley's Final Catalogue: Extremely abundant at dusk in lanes everywhere, excepting near the coast, e.g. about Gorleston.

Recent Suffolk Status: Less common than in Morley's time. Now much more local and not seen in numbers.

Life history: Single-brooded.

Identification: Garden carpet has much darker markings.

Habitat: Woodland and hedgerows.

Recorded in 37 (64%) of 58 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1940.
